Thanksgiving

It is Saturday morning and all I can say is praise the good Lord the eat has stopped.  It began Thursday afternoon around 1 pm, and continued throughout the rest of the day and on into Friday with no end in sight.  But now it is Saturday morning and everyone has decided to skip breakfast, though I decided to have a bowl of cereal and piece of pumpkin pie (breakfast of champions).

The only thing that makes me sad, is the holiday break is coming to an end and then Monday I have to go back to work.  For those who haven’t taught school, coming back after a long break is terrible.  To make things worse, the kids are going to be extra antsy with Christmas just right around the corner.

Overall, this Thanksgiving has been great.  Spending time with Tina and her family was a lot of fun and the annual “Davis Family Sweater Swap” was resounding success.  Actually it was not really much of a swap.  It was more like Tina’s dad deciding to give away all the sweaters he had accumulated over the years to the menfolk who happened to be there at the time.

Another highlight of the trip was finishing N.T. Wright’s “Simply Christian”.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand what being a Christian (or a Mormon for that matter) is really all about.

Well, that is about it.  I am going to start doing some homework.  BOOO!!!!!!
